The Deco Building

The $4 million adaptive use project of an inner city 1-story 18,000-square-foot building by the City of San Antonio, was to create a artistic anchor for revitalization. The original building floorplate included five separate lease hold spaces. The new building floorplate included building restrooms, telephone equipment room, offices for community use, and a boardroom for 30 seats. It also included leasing areas that shared the common areas. There were five residential homes acquired to accommodate a 66-space parking lot. Grace PG Design implemented building design, interior programming, space planning, and construction administration. The creation of the Deco Building was the first step in placemaking that lead to establishing the Deco District in San Antonio.
